Today, I was craving something warm, sweet, familiar, and comforting. Something home made. You know, a treat that can turn a heavy or chaotic day softer.
Sure enough, Rennoldson’s had everything I needed; The cinnamon rolls, the apples, the sugar, the cream. All lined up and waiting for me like the universe had already planned it out.
That’s the magic of a small town store,... you walk in, and it feels like someone has been quietly looking out for you.
It’s moments like this that remind me why I love our community so much. The convenience, the care, the comfort. And the simple joy of knowing that the things that feed our souls, literally and figuratively, are never far away.
My treat of choice was a cinna-apple pie. A quick, EASY, dessert.
Don't walk. RUN to Rennoldson's and get your ingredients to make this as well. Thank me later.
Makes: 8 slices Prep Time: 5–10 minutes
Bake Time: 25–30 minutes
Oven Temp: 350°F Ingredients
1 can cinnamon rolls (with icing)
1 can apple pie filling
4 Tbsp butter, cubed
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Coat the bottom of the pie dish with heavy cream
Cut the cinnamon rolls into small cubes and sprinkle them evenly over the heavy cream
Spread the can of apple pie filling over the cinnamon roll pieces
In a separate bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, and flour. Mix until the texture becomes clumpy and sandy. Sprinkle this mixture over the apple filling.
Place in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and bubbly
Drizzle the icing from the cinnamon roll package over the warm pie
Let it cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy!
